Welcome to Riske Math, by Amanda Riske! I decided to start a blog about my mathematical curiosities and share ideas about lessons in the middle and high school math classrooms. The blog is not only for educators but also for those that are interested in or skeptical about math. My goal as a teacher is to deliver content in a relevant way to students for them to recognize the beauty and power of math in the world beyond the classroom walls. Also, how to use math to teach ethics in our world of Big Data and algorithms impacting information we are exposed to on a daily basis.

I taught math at independent international schools from 2006-2018 in Oslo, Norway; Bonn, Germany; Shanghai, China, and Washington, DC.

I am pursuing a PhD in Learning, Literacies & Technology at Arizona State University. I want to explore project-based learning as it relates to math education.

Enjoy reading, and I hope that you learn about the beauty of mathematics.
